Saudi delegation holds negotiations at Uzbek Foreign Ministry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Saudi Arabia led by co-chairperson of the Joint commission on control over execution of agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology, culture, sports and youth affairs between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, head of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), Amr Al Dabbagh paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 6 June 2011.

The sides discussed issues of further strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas. It was noted that third session of joint commission and the first round of political consultations, which was held in November 2010, are considered as important step in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides paid attention to perspectives and priorities of cooperation in trade-economic and investment fields. It was said that creation of the Uzbek-Saudi Entrepreneurship play important role in establishment of mutual beneficial contacts between chambers of commerce and industry, banking-financial institutions, as well as business circles of two states.

Entering into force of the intergovernmental agreement on mutual encouragement and protection of investment, which was signing within current meeting, opens new opportunities.

The sides are considering international logistic center “Navoi” and agreement on creation of transnational transport corridor Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar as perspectives directions for strengthening bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation.

Saudi side expressed interest to participate in projects, implemented at the Navoi free industrial and economic zone, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

The sides exchanged opinion on other issues of international and regional character of mutual interest.
