Saudi businessmen are interested in investment cooperation with Uzbek partners

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Consul General of Uzbekistan in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) Nodirjon Turgunov met with Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Arabian company Muhaidib Group Emad bin Abdulkadir al-Muhaidib and Managing Director of UFMC Tariq al-Shuwaimi al -Jammaz, Dunyo news agency reported.

Founded in 1946, Muhaidib Group is engaged in the wholesale trade of oil and gas, construction materials and food products. In turn, the UFMC company works in the field of production and cultivation of safe animal feed.

During the conversation, the Saudi side was provided with detailed information about the large-scale changes being implemented in our country, reforms aimed at liberalizing the economy and developing foreign trade, and the opportunities created for foreign investors.

The Saudi side noted that currently Uzbekistan has accumulated extensive experience in growing and processing fruits and vegetables, dried fruits and nut products, and there is sufficient potential for exporting these products. They attract the attention of Arab markets with their quality and taste.

In this regard, readiness was expressed to import universal nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, urea and potassium fertilizers) for all types of agricultural crops, garden and ornamental plants produced in Uzbekistan.

The Saudi side was also provided with information about the Livestock Development Program in Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, ensuring food security by increasing livestock production, the widespread introduction of modern production methods, government support for the livestock sector, as well as the effective use of modern information and communication technologies and scientific achievements in this area.

Businessmen proposed to establish cooperation in the production of ready-made feed for livestock. In addition, the issue of creating livestock farms in our country with further export of their products to the kingdom was discussed.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to explore issues of establishing cooperation in these areas together with relevant departments and business partners in Uzbekistan.
