Saudi Arabia lifts COVID restrictions on Hajj

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Saudi Arabia has lifted restrictions on the Hajj imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dunyo news agency reported.

“The number of Hajj pilgrims will return to pre-pandemic levels, there will be no age restrictions,” Turkish Anadolu news agency quoted Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq bin Fauzon al-Rabia as saying.

According to him, the NUSK platform has been launched to facilitate the procedures for the arrival of pilgrims in the country.

The authorities of Saudi Arabia over the past three years, due to the spread of COVID-19, have limited the number of pilgrims for the Hajj.

A delegation of Uzbekistan, paying a visit to Jeddah, which included adviser to the head of our state Muzaffar Komilov, chairman of the Muslim Board, mufti Nuriddin Khaliknazarov, chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Sodikjon Toshboev, held talks with the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia Tawfik bin Fauzon al-Rabia.
