Farkhad Niyazov, director on corporate relations of Sarbast Plus, told UzA that it is the second brand of the company in Uzbekistan. It has great test and strength, the report added.
As earlier UzDaily.com reported, Sarbast Plus was launched in early September 2007. The venture was created in cooperation of local company and BBH, where BBH controls 75.1%. The two partners have invested approximately 50 million euros into building the greenfield brewery in Tashkent, as well as in training and development of marketing and distribution systems.
The brewery started shipments of its first local brand, Sarbast, in July 2007. The initial planned capacity of the plant is one million hectolitres per annum, with the potential to double the capacity by the end of 2008.
Baltic Beverages Holding AB (BBH) is a 50:50 owned joint venture between Carlsberg A/S and Scottish & Newcastle plc. BBH operates 19 breweries in Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic countries, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and is a leader in its markets.
