Saneg summed up the results of production activities for the first half of 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Saneg summed up the results of production activities for the first half of 2023.

The key indicators for the reporting period are the growth in productivity of the Ferghana Oil Refinery, a sharp increase in sales of petroleum products and an increase in the production of liquid hydrocarbons and gas.

Tulkin Yusupov, CEO of Saneg: “The results achieved demonstrate the enhanced capabilities and levels of performance that Saneg can bring to Uzbekistan as a vertically integrated oil and gas company. Saneg’s operational results are accompanied by significant achievements in creating jobs, training employees in new skills and strengthening the company-wide commitment to safe work practices, and we will continue to improve all aspects of our operations in the coming years.”

Overview of key growth indicators for the first half of 2023:

- 305.2 thousand tons - production of liquid hydrocarbons

- 723.2 million cubic meters - gas production

- 650.5 thousand tons - the volume of processing at the Fergana refinery

- 502.7 thousand tons - the volume of sales of petroleum products

For 6 months of 2023, the volume of crude oil refining at the Fergana Oil Refinery amounted to 650.5 thousand tons, an increase of 61% compared to the first half of 2022.

This allowed the company to sell 502.7 thousand tons of oil products, which is 73.3% higher than in the previous year. The key products supplied for the growth of the economy of Uzbekistan in the first half of the year were: diesel fuel - more than 208 thousand tons and gasoline - over 168 thousand tons.

To ensure the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to consumers in Tashkent and Tashkent region, in April 2023, the company commissioned a terminal for the storage and distribution of petroleum products on the territory of the refueling complex at Tashkent International Airport. To date, more than 30 thousand tons of oil products have been delivered through the terminal, which made it possible to cover more than 40% of the filling stations located in Tashkent.

In addition, the company is developing a new business area and is building modern gas stations throughout Uzbekistan. Thus, the commissioning of the first gas station, located in Bustanlyk district of Tashkent region, is scheduled for September this year.

Over the past period of the current year, the production of liquid hydrocarbons amounted to 305.2 thousand tons, which is 10.6% higher compared to the same period last year. Gas production amounted to 723.2 million cubic meters, which is 22.8% more than the same indicator in 2022. The average daily production of hydrocarbons amounted to 1,648 tons per day, which is 1.7% more than in the first half of 2022.

The main growth drivers for the reporting period are the commissioning of new wells from drilling into commercial operation, as well as geological and technical activities carried out at 106 wells, including sidetracking and commissioning of previously abandoned wells.

Separately, projects were implemented to increase oil and gas production at the Chegara, Yangi Karatepa, Sharkiy Ispanli and Jeynov fields of Kashkadarya region.

In the first half of 2023, the company continued to implement programs both to create new fixed assets and to maintain the current ones in good condition. The volume of assimilated investments increased by 2.5 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to USUS$78 million. More than 40 technological facilities were overhauled.

As part of the Capital Construction of Fixed Assets oil program, 24 km of oil pipelines were laid in the first half of this year, 17 oil wells were put into operation, and a complex of 3 steam generators was installed at the Boston oil field to increase the production of hard-to-recover oil.

As part of the implementation of the gas program "Capital Construction of Fixed Assets", 148 km of gas pipelines were laid, 18 gas wells were put into operation in the fields of Mubarek and Andijan regions.

To transport gas with the required pressure to the consumer, modular compressor units (MCU) were built at the Northern Shurtan and Chuvama fields. Also, construction of another 9 MCU is underway at other fields with low-pressure gas.

It should be noted that as part of the natural gas production drive, capital construction of facilities at the Western Aral field is underway: a gas pipeline with a length of 180 km and a primary gas treatment unit.

In the first half of 2023, the company implemented a number of activities aimed at attracting young professionals and developing staff, investing more than US$26 million.

As part of a continuous process of personnel training, about 300 employees were trained at the Training Site, created on the basis of the Saneg production plant in Karshi, in the specialties of Oil and Gas Production Operator and Well Survey Operator. Thus, since the launch of the landfill in April last year, more than 800 oil and gas production operators have been trained in conditions as close as possible to field conditions.

Currently, the company’s enterprises conduct production and undergraduate practice for 57 students of industry universities in three areas: "Production Economics", "Operation and Maintenance of Oil Production Facilities", "Economics of Enterprises and Organizations of the Oil and Gas Industry".

In addition, in the first half of this year, the company continued to promote the Youth Watch program.
