Samarkand to Receive 330 More Yutong Electric Buses from China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Samarkand is set to receive an additional 330 Chinese-made electric buses, the regional Department of Transport reported. In the first phase, the city will take delivery of 80 vehicles.

Rahim Tozhiev, Head of the Samarkand Regional Department of Transport, and Odiljon Abdullaev, Director of the state-owned enterprise Samarkandyulovchtrans, returned from a working visit to the People’s Republic of China, where they discussed expanding cooperation with the Yutong company.

During their visit to Zhengzhou, the delegation toured Yutong’s plant, which covers 112 hectares and employs around 30,000 staff, including 3,000 research engineers. The company holds more than 2,300 patents and is actively introducing innovations in bus manufacturing.

Currently, Samarkand operates 100 Yutong electric buses. The parties highlighted the importance of developing a comprehensive service system in light of the planned fleet expansion.

Negotiations included plans to purchase 80 new electric buses in the near future, followed by another 250. Yutong’s management confirmed its readiness to adapt production to regional needs and ensure full technical support for the vehicles.
