On 14 December, teachers of universities, lyceums, workers of information-library and resources centers will gather at the Samarkand Regional Information-Library Center named after Pushkin, which marks its 100th anniversary this year. They will discuss role of modern library in process of teaching and studying humanitarian disciplines.

The event is held at the initiative of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Tashkent in cooperation with Samarkand Union of Russian Language and Literature Teachers and Samarkand Regional Information-Library Center named after Pushkin.

The library prepared book exhibitions, one of which will demonstrate rare books of the 18th-19th century and another will present modern books of Uzbekistan. Russian firm Informnauka will present Russian publications, while another exhibition will be dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Samarkand library.

The participants of the seminar will discuss fate of traditional books and exchange opinion on development of electronic books.

Russian Center for Science and Culture in Tashkent will hand over a set of books of classic and modern Russian literature to the Samarkand library.
