Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand hosts Hungarian business forum as part of the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

The business forum is attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov, officials of other ministries, banks, committees, agencies, associations, research institutes, centers of Uzbekistan, local entrepreneurs, and with the Hungarian parties - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Laszlo Parrag, Minister of Culture and Innovation Janos Csak, directors and representatives of a number of companies.

“Thanks to friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Hungary, bilateral cooperation reaches unprecedented heights. The volume of mutual trade is growing rapidly (it has tripled in 5 years). The number of joint ventures has reached 15, and the volume of investments in 2022 is more than US$30 million. Following the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Hungary in October 2022, a Roadmap was adopted for the implementation of new projects worth more than US$1 billion.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to the representatives of all Hungarian companies for their active participation in these projects,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev in his speech at the opening of the business forum.

“Thank you for the invitation to Uzbekistan. I sincerely believe that our meetings today will be fruitful. It is no secret that in recent years the whole world has found itself in a whirlpool of global problems. The reforms we have implemented over the past three years have changed our economy.

In such difficult situations, it is very important to maintain friendly relations between our countries. We really appreciate these relationships. Hungary is a country with an open economy. In this regard, we are ready to accept projects and various benefits offered by Uzbekistan and work in cooperation. We will try to maintain stable relations between our countries,” said Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

On the eve of this business forum, on 1-4 November 2022, meetings were held with representatives of Hungarian companies in the format of a video conference, where agreements on cooperation were reached.

As part of the Uzbek-Hungarian business forum, Uzbek businessmen held B2B and G2B negotiations with representatives of more than 60 Hungarian companies led by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. As a result of bilateral negotiations, investment and trade agreements were signed.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the Hungarian company Bonafarm, is working on a project to create a poultry cluster in the Tashkent region.

In the economic part of this project to create a poultry complex in Uzbekistan, the Hungarian side set a goal at the initial stage to assess market opportunities, visit large shopping centers, study the demand and consumption of meat products, production volumes, incl. food base.

In turn, the Hungarian side was provided with detailed information on the state of infrastructure development, potential production facilities, parameters and partners from the Uzbek side. Within the framework of the Uzbek-Hungarian business forum held in the city of Samarkand, specific conditions for the implementation of the project in Akhangaran district of Tashkent region were determined.
