Samarkand hosts an international conference dedicated to improving the system of studying ancient manuscripts in Islamic education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An international conference on improving the system of studying ancient manuscripts in Islamic education has started at the Imam Al-Bukhari Research Center in Samarkand region. The event is held as part of the Pilgrimage Tourism Week, which started on 1 November.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage together with the Khokimiyat of Samarkand region.

In recent years, the organization of the activities of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, the international research centers of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termezi, Imam Maturidi and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan marked the beginning of a new stage in the process of scientific research of the heritage of great scientists and thinkers who were born and carried out scientific activities on Uzbek soil, and the practical application of its results.

At the current stage of development of New Uzbekistan, further acceleration of work on the storage, study and holistic transfer to the future generation of a large number of priceless works, unique written sources of great scientists and thinkers is important.

The manuscripts are considered priceless, precious treasures, as they reveal the knowledge of earlier scholars and their efforts in various sciences; they include discourses, analyses, collections, essays, translations, etc. The manuscript is an incredibly valuable artifact that sheds light on the spiritual and cultural life of the people. Therefore, this cultural phenomenon should be carefully preserved and studied.

The conference is held in two sections:

1. Experience of Uzbekistan and foreign countries in improving the system of preservation and research of ancient written sources;

2. Conservation and restoration of rare resources, registration and digitization.
