Samarkand airport to be temporarily closed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand airport will be closed to receive flights for technical reasons from 8 November to 12 November.

The corresponding message was published in the international notification system for air personnel NOTAM.

It should be noted that on 11 November 2022, a summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held in Samarkand. The organization will hold its first summit after the reorganization in November 2021. Then the Turkic Council was reorganized into the Organization of Terek States (OTS).

The members of the OTS are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan. Hungary and Turkmenistan have observer status.

In Samarkand, on the eve of the meeting of the heads of state and government of the countries participating in the OTS, meetings of the ministers of economy and foreign affairs will be held.
