Salaries to increase by 25% from 1 August in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed on 8 July 2009 a decree to increase salaries, pensions, stipends and social allowances in the country.

The document is aimed at increasing the incomes of the population and strengthening social support of the citizens.

The decree said that the salaries to employees of state structures and organizations, as well as pensions, social allowances and stipends will increase by 25% on the average.

The minimum salary in Uzbekistan will comprise 33,645 soums per month, pensions and allowances to disabled from childhood 66,660 soums, and allowances to elderly and those who are incapable to work and have no required work experience 40,375 soums per month.
