Salaries in Uzbekistan to increase by 1.12 times from December

Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed on 16 November 2009 a decree to increase salaries, pensions, stipends and social allowances from 1 December.
Starting from 1 December 2009 salaries, pensions, social allowances and stipends will be increased 1.12 times on the average.
The following minimum monthly amounts will be introduced in Uzbekistan:
- salaries: 37 680 soums;
- pensions: 74 660 soums;
- basic (zero) grade on the single tariff scale: 37 680 soums;
- allowances to disabled from childhood: 74 660 soums;
- allowances to elderly and disabled citizens without the required work experience: 45 220 soums.
The expenses related to increase of the salaries, pensions, allowances and stipends will be covered by the State Budget and the Pension Fund under the Finance Ministry of Uzbekistan.
