Saidov and Lavrov Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership Between Russia and Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 August, a telephone conversation took place between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
The ministers exchanged views on key issues in the development of Russia–Uzbekistan relations, as well as discussed pressing matters on the international agenda and regional security issues, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The conversation occurred ahead of significant international events: the Council of Heads of SCO Member States meeting scheduled for 31 August –1 September in China, and the Second Russia–Central Asia Summit, set for 9 October in Tajikistan.
Both ministers confirmed their commitment to continuing joint efforts to strengthen comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Uzbekistan, emphasizing the importance of implementing previously agreed decisions between the heads of the two states.
