Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today in Samarkand, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Navid Hanif, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development. The meeting focused on the outcomes of the UN Public Service Forum, which was held in Uzbekistan for the first time.

During the conversation, Saida Mirziyoyeva highlighted Uzbekistan’s key achievements in reform and digital transformation, as well as the strategic priorities outlined in the national development roadmap, “Uzbekistan – 2030.”

The two sides discussed promising areas of cooperation, including youth empowerment, the development of digital skills, the promotion of women’s rights and opportunities, and the involvement of Uzbek professionals in UN-led initiatives and projects.

Environmental issues were also addressed, with particular attention given to plans for establishing an International Climate Academy and efforts to restore the Aral Sea region's ecosystem.

“In today’s world of growing instability, it is more important than ever to learn to truly listen to one another. The United Nations remains a unique platform for open dialogue and the joint pursuit of solutions,” Mirziyoyeva noted, expressing confidence that many new initiatives will be launched in partnership with the UN in the near future.
