Sadyr Japarov proposes a unified visa for Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has proposed introducing a unified visa for Central Asian countries. He announced this initiative on his Facebook account.
The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have officially resolved their long-standing border issue, which had remained unsettled for 101 years. According to him, this is a landmark event for the entire region, as all Central Asian countries have now completed the process of border delimitation.
In light of this, Japarov suggested moving towards a visa-free regime among regional states and introducing a unified visa for foreign citizens, allowing unrestricted travel across Central Asia, similar to the Schengen visa system.
