Rustam Azimov: Capital of FRDU reaches US$11bn
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Capital of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (FRDU) reached US$11 billion, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Rustam Azimov said.

At the same time, he said that the announced capital of FRDU makes up US$15 billion. He said that Uzbekistan is now ready to co-finance large projects with participation of foreign investors.

He said that currently attraction of foreign investments is not priority task for Uzbekistan. He said that preliminary goal is to select good projects for implementation.

Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan was created in May 2006 in line with the presidential resolution “On measures on organization activity of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan”.

The fund was founded for financing and co-financing important investment projects, included into the state investment programme. The charter capital of the fund was US$1 billion. Uzbekistan plans to increase its charter capital up to US$15 billion stage-by-stage by 2016.
