Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian Railways has extended a 50% discount on import transportation of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan, according to the press service of OJSC Russian Railways.

Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan said that in addition, a discount of 20.4% remains on transportation in refrigerated rolling stock belonging to Uzbekistan Temir Yollari.

It should be noted that Russia is the main market for Uzbek fruit and vegetable products.

According to the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on the results of January-October 2023, Uzbekistan supplied almost 1.5 million tons of fruits and vegetables to Russia for a total amount of $951.3 million, which is about 40% of the total supply of this category.
