Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev has briefed the leaders of the CIS countries on the main results of the G20 summit in London and discussed with them the possibility of minimizing the consequences of the crisis for individual countries in the Commonwealth, the Kremlin press service has announced.

"Between 3 and 8 April, Medvedev had a series of telephone conversations with the heads of member states of the Commonwealth. In his conversations with the presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, Medvedev informed them of the main results of the G20 summit in London," says the press release from the Russian president’s press service issued on Wednesday, 8 April.

Medvedev discussed with his opposite numbers from CIS countries "possible steps to minimize the consequences of the crisis for individual member countries and the CIS as a whole by using the opportunities that are opening up in view of the decisions taken at the G20 summit".

The press release says the Russian president also exchanged views with his opposite numbers on topical issues of the bilateral agenda, including progress in the implementation of joint trade and economic projects, and the prospects of working together on certain international issues.

"The schedule of imminent contacts was discussed, including the way they tie in with multilateral events (the St Petersburg international economic forum, the CSTO [Collective Security Treaty Organization] session at the highest level, SCO [Shanghai Cooperation Organization] summit, and the horse race for the prize of the Russian president), in which the partners will be taking part at various levels," says the press release from the Kremlin press service.
