Russian parliament ratifies agreement with Uzbekistan on writing off debt

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Duma of Russia (lower house of the Russian parliament) ratified a bilateral agreement between Uzbekistan and Russia on settlement financial claims and liabilities.

Uzbekistan and Russia signed the agreement on settlement of mutual financial claims and liabilities in December 2014 within the visit of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan.

The document envisages that Russia will write off debt of Uzbekistan for US$865 million.
