Russian painter Alexander Ishenko gives master class
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The final day of the Art Week started with a master class by a famous Russian painter Alexander Ishenko for art specialists, young artists and art students. Ishenko did a video presentation of his paintings and judged works by young Uzbek artists.

Talking to the audience, Ishenko said that he was born in Tashkent and was therefore happy to be back in Uzbekistan to teach a master class. He also said he hoped to organise a solo show of his creations in Tashkent.

He went on to demonstrate his works and commented on each of them. Ishenko’s creativity may also be found on church walls, and those gathered had a chance to see a few of the church paintings.

He used works by students to help analyse and correct possible errors in them. Alexander Ishenko viewed a series of still-lifes, collage pieces, photos of interior designs, jewellery pieces as well as glass painting and suzani while commenting on these works with regard to correct composition, colour conflict and other principles of fine arts.

The artists encouraged the audience to express their opinions along with himself, an opportunity which the participants were quick to use. The master class was an opportunity for the young artists to get valuable professional feedback on and evaluation of their skills.
