Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- To effectively counter terrorism, it is necessary to cancel the visa-free regime with Central Asia. This was stated by Sergei Mironov, chairman of the A JUST RUSSIA - FOR TRUTH Party and head of the party faction in the State Duma.
He believes that the introduction of a visa regime with Central Asian states will help strengthen national security and promote mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and its southern neighbors.
Mironov emphasized that his faction proposes a whole range of measures to tighten control over migration processes, starting with the introduction of a visa regime with Central Asia. He argues that such a step is necessary to ensure order on the border, regulate migration and counter terrorist threats.
According to Mironov, the abolition of the visa-free regime should not be considered a hostile act against neighbors, and he hopes for their understanding. He explains that open borders are used by Russia’s enemies to prepare subversive activities on the territory of neighboring states, which poses a threat to the security of all countries in the region.
In general, Mironov believes that the abolition of the visa-free regime is a step towards strengthening security and cooperation in the Eurasian space.
