Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov held a meeting in Moscow on 17 November 2023 with the Ambassadors of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

At the event, a comprehensive assessment of Russia’s interaction with the states of the Central Asian region was carried out, both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of general international associations, including the CIS, EAEU, CSTO, SCO.

The participants noted with satisfaction the stability of trade and economic relations, the growth of trade turnover and close scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian ties.

Particular attention was paid to the mutual desire to create conditions for the sustainable development of the entire multifaceted complex of strategic partnerships, including the sphere of security and regional stability.

Special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in the CA5+Russia format and the implementation of the results of the first summit of this mechanism, which took place in Astana on 14 October 2022.

Issues of developing scientific and practical cooperation in the field of water use and solving environmental problems of the Aral Sea region were also discussed.
