Russia’s LUKoil will invest US$237 million, Gazprom - US$35.5 million, and mobile operators VimpelCom - US$19 million, and MTS - US$120 million in the Uzbek economy next year, the agency said.
As earlier reported, Uzbekistan plans to attract foreign investments for US$1.864 billion on 86 projects in 2009, the resolution of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov, which approved the investment programme, said.
According to the resolution, the country will attract US$481.75 million under the state guarantee on 47 projects and US$1.382 billion of foreign direct investments (FDI) on 39 projects.
