Russia reintroduces gasoline export ban

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 August, Russia has reintroduced a ban on gasoline exports, which will be in effect through September and October.

Previously, from 1 March to 1 September, there was a ban on gasoline exports, except to EAEU countries. This restriction was temporarily lifted at the end of May.

Pavel Sorokin, First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, stated that the decision to extend the ban through September and October was made, though a ban on diesel fuel exports is not currently under consideration. However, measures will be taken to limit exports by non-producers.

Last year, Russia also imposed bans on gasoline and diesel fuel exports to prevent "gray" exports and ensure sufficient fuel availability for the domestic market.
