First Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov has been waiting for Uzbekistan’s reply to Russia’s proposal to join the International Uranium Enrichment Center in the Russian city of Angarsk.
Ivanov reported about his visit to Uzbekistan at a meeting held by President Putin with the Cabinet in Zavidovo on Monday, ITAR-TASS said.
"Cooperation in the field of uranium production and enrichment at the International Center in Angarsk (Southern Siberia), to which Kazakhstan and Ukraine had joined already, is possible," Ivanov said, adding, Uzbekistan promised to reply in the near future.
On 4 July, Ivanov visited Tashkent as the head of the Inter-governmental commission and met Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Premier Shavkat Mirziyayev.
