Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia intends to increase supplies of oil and petroleum products to Uzbekistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov said.

The parties have already formed recommended lists of equipment necessary for modernization and additional equipment of testing laboratories in Uzbekistan. This will allow us to assess the compliance of products with the requirements of 15 technical regulations of the EAEU.

Denis Manturov emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of energy and expressed readiness to increase the supply of oil and petroleum products to Uzbekistan.

He also emphasized Russia’s support for Uzbekistan’s desire to develop its mineral resource base and expressed its readiness to continue cooperation in geology and subsoil use.

Denis Manturov noted successful oil and gas exploration projects in the Aral Sea, emphasizing that large gas fields could be discovered in the region based on the results of seismic exploration conducted for the first time in Uzbekistan in post-Soviet history.
