Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia handed over to Turkish law enforcement agencies a citizen of Uzbekistan, Khasanjon Aminov, who was wanted on charges of murdering a hotel owner in Istanbul. This was reported by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk.

She reported that law enforcement agencies at Vnukovo airport handed over citizen of Uzbekistan Khasanjon Aminov to representatives of law enforcement agencies of the Turkish Republic.

Volk noted that, according to the competent authorities of Türkiye, in July 2019, Aminov, together with an accomplice, being an employee of a hotel in Istanbul, committed the murder of its owner and fled outside Türkiye.

Khasanjon Aminov was put on the wanted list. In July 2023, he was detained by police in the city of Kazan.

In December 2023, the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office granted the Turkish side’s request to extradite the wanted person.
