Russia and Uzbekistan increase agricultural trade by 20% in 2024
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev to discuss prospects for bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector.
According to Patrushev, Russia and Uzbekistan are strategic partners in agriculture, with trade in agricultural products and foodstuffs increasing by 20% in 2024. The positive trend continues this year, and Russia sees Uzbekistan as a promising market for expanding exports. In particular, Russia is ready to boost supplies of sunflower oil, confectionery products, grain, and livestock products.
In 2024, Russia’s key exports to Uzbekistan included sugar, sunflower oil, confectionery, oilseed meal, feed cake, and baby food.
Patrushev also emphasized Russia’s interest in increasing imports of Uzbek fruits and vegetables, noting that all necessary conditions have been created to ensure seamless deliveries.
