In weight category of 105 kg Ruslan Nurudinov lifted 190 kg in snatch and 235 kg in clean and jerk. Champion of Universiade in Kazan lifted 425 kg in total and won the first place of the tournament.

Nurudinov became the first world weightlifting champion in history of the heavy athletics of Uzbekistan.

Another representative of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Alimov won a bronze medal in weight category of 77 kg with total 355 kg (158 kg in snatch and 197 kg in clean and jerk) of the championship.

Uzbekistan claimed the fourth place in general teams classification (1 gold and 1 bronze) after Russia (6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals), China (6, 2, 2) and North Korea (1, 5, 0).

Astana (Kazakhstan) will host next World Weightlifting Champion in 2014.
