Ruslan Nurodinov becomes a three-time world champion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan national team had a successful performance at the World Weightlifting Championship in Bahrain, winning six medals, including three golds.

Olympic champion Ruslan Nurodinov once again demonstrated his superiority, becoming a three-time world champion. In the 109 kg category, he took fifth place in the snatch with a result of 182 kg, but in the clean and jerk, he showed an outstanding performance—lifting 242 kg, breaking his own world record set three years ago in Tashkent. His total result in both lifts—424 kg—remained unbeatable by his competitors, securing him the gold.

Sharofiddin Amriddinov claimed the gold medal in the snatch, lifting 182 kg. However, he finished sixth in the clean and jerk with 212 kg and ended up fifth in the overall standings. Nevertheless, his success in the snatch earned Uzbekistan another gold.

Sarvarbek Zafarjonov, competing in the 89 kg category, won the bronze in the snatch with a lift of 171 kg. In the clean and jerk, he finished sixth with 204 kg, and his total of 375 kg placed him fourth overall.

Muhammadkodir Toshtemirov brought home two medals for the team in the 81 kg category. He placed second in the snatch, lifting 165 kg, and ninth in the clean and jerk with 190 kg. With a total of 355 kg, he secured the bronze medal.

By the end of the championship, the Uzbekistan national team achieved high rankings, winning three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, demonstrating the high level of preparation of Uzbek athletes.
