Rules of issuing biometric passports to under ages approved in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan approved a regulation on order of issuing biometric passports of the citizens of Uzbekistan and travel documents of persons without citizenship to under ages.

The document regulates order of issuing biometric passports to the citizens of Uzbekistan and biometric travel documents of persons without citizenship to under ages and registration of permission for travelling abroad.

Parents or guardians of under ages, who are planning to travel abroad, should submit applications to divisions of entry, departure and registration of citizenship of Interior Ministry on residence area to receive biometric passports of the citizens of Uzbekistan or travel documents of the persons without citizenship.

The document said that the citizens of Uzbekistan will not require to register visas or permission sticker to travel to one of the CIS states.

Citizens of Uzbekistan or persons without citizenship, who registered at consular offices of Uzbekistan abroad, should submit applications for biometric passports or travel documents to consular mission of Uzbekistan or to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. At the same time, parents, guardians or representatives of organizations should submit documents on behalf of under ages.

In Uzbekistan, passports and travel documents are issued in established order within ten working days after sending application to the State Personalization Center under the Cabinet of Ministers and abroad – within fifteen working days.

At loss of passport or travel document, new one is issued in established order within a month from submission of application.

Passports or travel documents are issued to parents, guardians or representatives of organizations, who submitted applications.

Passports or travel documents are issued for two years for children at the age of up to one year and for five years for children at the age of between 1 and 16.

At the same time, validity of passport or travel document should not exceed the age of 16 of the citizen or person without citizenship.

In exceptional cases, the documents can be issued for ten years if the age of travelling person is higher than 15. At the same time, parents or guardians should explain reason of long-term travel.

After validity of biometric passport or travel document expires, the documents should be submitted in established order to divisions of entry, departure and registration of citizenship of Interior Ministry on residence area within a month term.

Passport or travel document is a document, confirming identity of the citizen or person without citizenship and it is valid worldwide.
