Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Royal beverage from Afghanistan has failed a quality standards test in Uzbekistan, according to Daryo.
During a re-inspection, specialists found that the drink contains an elevated level of the food additive "Azorubine E122," a red colorant.
This colorant can negatively affect children’s activity and attention.
Previously, officials stated that the product did not contain toxic or harmful substances.
According to Uzbekistan’s legislation, products containing such colorants must have appropriate labeling.
The manufacturer has been required to comply with the legal requirements and provide the necessary information on the drink’s packaging. Failure to do so will be considered a violation of the law.
