Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Rostov region, led by Governor Vasily Golubev, is currently visiting Uzbekistan.
In Tashkent, the head of the delegation met with Oleg Malginov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan, and Konstantin Zlygostev, the Trade Representative of Russia.
According to the Russian Trade Representation, Zlygostev highlighted that Uzbekistan is a priority country for the export activities of the Rostov region and emphasized the favorable conditions for further strengthening cooperation.
Today, a meeting also took place between the Trade Representative and Andrey Saveliev, the Minister of Industry and Energy of the Rostov region, along with representatives of major enterprises from the region involved in the production of mainline locomotives, heat exchange equipment, and chemical products. Several Rostov companies expressed interest in localizing their production in Uzbekistan, considering the favorable conditions for foreign investors.
Additionally, a meeting was held at the Trade Representation with a business delegation from the Rostov region, organized by the Export Support Center. The discussions focused on optimal logistics routes, the development of online trading, and promising market niches in Uzbekistan.
The delegation’s visit will continue in the Jizzakh region, a long-standing partner of Rostov. As part of the interregional forum, several agreements are expected to be signed between Rostov companies and Uzbek counterparts.
