Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The pledge of a bright future for all mankind is a reliable "green" source of energy, such as nuclear energy. Modern nuclear technology provides people with much more than just clean electricity. The peaceful atom is a universal tool necessary for solving the most pressing problems of the present and future. Achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals is impossible without nuclear technology. However, unfortunately, for many, the peaceful atom is still just another source of generation.
In order to rectify the current situation, Rosatom is launching a unique educational initiative “Atoms for Humanity”. Consistently adhering to a human-centered philosophy, Rosatom makes the ordinary person a key player in the debate about the role of the peaceful atom. Atom for People is a unique collection of stories in which people from all over the world talk about how nuclear technology is helping to make dreams come true.
On 30 April, the event "Why does humanity need nuclear technologies" will take place, dedicated to the launch of the project. The presentation will be moderated by Kirsty Gogan, an internationally renowned expert with 15 years of experience advising on climate and energy issues. Heads of Rosatom and the World Nuclear Association, environmental experts and heroes of the Atom for People project will speak at the event.
Speakers will share their views on the social, economic and environmental benefits of nuclear technology. The discussion will also feature personal stories of how the peaceful atom is transforming lives.
The presentation of the Atom for People project will take place on 30 April at 17:00 Tashkent time on the website atomsforhumanity.ru (in Russian) and atomsforhumanity.com (in English).
