Rosatom presents integrated solutions at the INNOPROM exhibition. Central Asia"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Rosatom State Corporation takes part in the International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia”, which takes place in Tashkent on 22-24 April. This year, Rosatom is presenting comprehensive solutions to ensure the energy sovereignty of the countries of Central Asia.

To ensure sustainable economic development, a stable and safe source of energy is required in combination with non-nuclear energy technologies, such as renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, thermal energy services and much more.

“Based on the fact that nuclear energy is a reliable source of basic generation that qualitatively complements the country’s energy balance, we understand that it is possible to effectively combat climate change and ensure the country’s energy sovereignty only by implementing an integrated approach based on the balance of nuclear and thermal energy, renewable energy, and integration with energy storage systems. A balanced mix of various sources of generation and storage allows the country’s energy system to be more sustainable, including when operating in the mode of cross-border power flows,” noted Sergei Gromov, General Director of the regional center “Rosatom - Central Asia”, talking about Rosatom’s energy solutions.

The Rosatom stand presents technologies that make it possible to ensure the sustainability of the current energy system of the countries of the Central Asian region, taking into account the development of new projects. Visitors to the exhibition can get acquainted with technologies in the field of renewable energy sources, energy storage systems capable of withstanding increased loads, the latest developments in the field of nuclear medicine, metal composite cylinders capable of operating in extreme temperatures from -60 to +65 C.

Taking into account the dynamics of development of renewable energy projects in the region, the Rosatom delegation presented a detailed description of technologies in the field of wind energy. It should be noted that today Rosatom is one of the key players in the Russian wind energy market, where the total volume of projects, not counting planned international ones, is 1.7 GW of installed capacity, of which 1 GW has already been put into operation.

Currently, Rosatom is implementing a wind farm project in Kyrgyzstan.

Rosatom pays special attention to hydropower, namely small hydroelectric power plants. Their peculiarity is that these installations can operate effectively in combination with traditional and nuclear energy sources, as well as with other types of renewable energy sources.

Rosatom specialists are ready to offer reference technologies in the implementation of hydropower facilities, including design, engineering and supply of equipment, around the world. Among the immediate plans is the construction of the first small hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 24 MW on the Jerooy River in Kyrgyzstan.

The Rosatom State Corporation is also one of the five largest global suppliers of raw isotope products used in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases. Currently, a new Rosatom plant for the production of isotope products for medical purposes is being built in Obninsk, which will become the leading manufacturing enterprise in Europe producing radiopharmaceuticals in an expanded range for the diagnosis and treatment of oncological, neurological and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, Rosatom is a manufacturer of medical equipment for radiation and brachytherapy, implements projects for the construction of nuclear medicine centers and is building a network of multifunctional centers for the processing and sterilization of medical products and food products in Russia and abroad, including in Uzbekistan.

The stand also presented extensive information about stationary energy storage systems and traction batteries designed for use in automotive production (passenger cars, electric trucks, electric vehicles, and special equipment), at large industrial enterprises to provide power supply, as well as in the development of IT infrastructure.

In 2024, Russia presides over the CIS bodies, in this capacity it has intensified work in the field of further strengthening the Commonwealth as an integration association and increasing its international authority. Rosatom and its divisions are expanding cooperation with enterprises and organizations of the CIS countries.
