Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian state corporation Rosatom is discussing the construction of small nuclear power plants with Uzbekistan and other countries. This was stated by the general director of the corporation Alexey Likhachev in the State Duma.

According to him, the demand for small nuclear power plants is very high. According to the forecasts of state corporation analysts, up to 30-40 GW of low-power nuclear power plants will be created in the world in the next 10-15 years.

Alexey Likhachev noted that Rosatom works with several partners and clients. In particular, the Russian corporation is discussing this issue with Uzbekistan.

“We are discussing with Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and several island states in Southeast Asia,” he said.
