Review competition of grape and wine producers to be held in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On approval of the Regulations on the procedure for holding a republican review competition of producers of grapes and wine products” was adopted.

The document was developed in accordance with the resolution of the President from 28 July  2021 “On additional measures to introduce a cluster system in the development of viticulture, state support for attracting advanced technologies in this area.”

Since 2023, a republican viticulture review competition has been established, held once every two years in September in the following nominations:

"The best Grape Variety"

"The best Intensive Vineyard",

"The best variety of domestic grapes"

"The best wine production".

The Regulations on the procedure for holding the republican competition of viticulturists and producers of wine products have been approved. They are in order of:

creation of an organizing committee for the competition;

selection of participants in the competition (they may be legal entities engaged in the cultivation of grapes and the production of wine products);

evaluation of the participants of the review competition, awarding the winners and prize-winners.

The awarding of the winners of the review competition with cash prizes and other memorable gifts is financed by the Agency for Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market and the Development of Winemaking, extra-budgetary funds from the Ministry for Support of the Mahalla and Family, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Council of Farmers, Dekhkan Farms and owners of homestead lands of Uzbekistan.

Prizes are distributed as follows:

1st place - 100 sizes of basic estimated value;

2nd place - 75 sizes of basic estimated value;

3rd place - 50 sizes of basic estimated value.
