The report said share of food products in total retail trade turnover was 48.2% and non-food products - 51.8% (in January-June 2008 - 51.3 and 48.7% respectively).

The retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached 3.112 trillion soums or increased by 37.3% year-on-year. Turnover of trade enterprises in total retail trade turnover comprised 42.6% (up 35.8% year-on-year).

In total turnover of trade enterprises, the share of the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises in the rural area was 30.9% in the reporting period.

The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dekhkan markets increased by 6.6% and reached 2.565 trillion soums. Share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 35.1%.

Goods turnover of the informal sector (commodity and specialized markets) made up 1.635 trillion soums, or grew by 6.1% year-on-year. Share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 22.3%.
