Reservoirs for fish farming to be provided for rent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential resolution "On measures to improve the procedure for using reservoirs for the needs of fish farms, as well as the development of fishing and coastal tourism facilities" was adopted.

From 1 October 2023, through the electronic trading platform "E-auksion", business entities are provided for rent:

state-owned natural and artificial reservoirs (reservoirs) - for commercial breeding and fishing;

non-agricultural land plots around reservoirs, as well as rivers - for the creation of beaches, the provision of services for sports and amateur fishing, fishing, boating, the organization of trade in fish products, catering and other tourist services, as well as for placement for these purposes structures made of light structures (complex of yurt camps, containers).

The requirements do not apply to reservoirs with an incomplete lease agreement, as well as to the Aidar-Arnasay system of lakes.

From 1 January 2024, within the framework of the “Every Family is an Entrepreneur” program, an unsecured loan of up to 50 million soums is provided to the population and business entities for the implementation of fish farming projects. At the same time, the Ministry of Water Resources was instructed to take measures to provide water to families engaged in fish farming.

The resolution approved:

List of forest fund lands on which fishing and coastal tourism facilities are being created in 2023-2024;

List of reservoirs where objects of commercial breeding and fishing and coastal tourism are being created in 2023–2024;

Forecast parameters:

fish farming in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions in 2024;

on the intensification of artificial reservoirs in 2024;

on organizing fish farming by the intensive method in households in 2024.
