Republican intersectoral industrial fair starts in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 November, the Republican Intersectoral Industrial Fair began its work at the National Exhibition Center in Tashkent, at which 9350 items of products produced by 944 enterprises of the 21st industry and 14 regions of Uzbekistan were presented for the first time.

Speaking at the opening ceremony with a welcoming speech, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev noted the effectiveness of inter-sectoral fairs held in the country, following which this year 7.6 thousand contracts for the supply of products worth 4.4 trillion soums were signed, and also drew the attention of the participants to a completely new format of the fair held this year, aimed at stimulating the optimization of the volume of products imported into the country.

Among the submitted samples - 2275 types of imported products, the production of which is proposed to be mastered at local enterprises on the basis of industrial cooperation, 3112 new types of products, the production of which has already been mastered by local enterprises and 4998 types of products intended to replace imported goods. The developed projects of production facilities for the production of these types of products are demonstrated at a specially organized stand to attract potential initiators.

Another innovation is the introduction of a mechanism that provides the possibility of selling local products and guaranteeing payment through the Escrow clearing system in the newly created Digital Transformation Center, as well as a system for selling products by societies of the disabled of the republic both within the current fair and using the electronic cooperation portal.

In addition, it was noted that the formation of investment programs in terms of the implementation of large regional projects for 2023 will also be based on the priorities and initiatives announced during this fair.

The fair will run from 14 to 18 November. Based on its results, it is expected to sign contracts worth 4.2 trillion soums.
