Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution  "On comprehensive measures for the development of cycling" was adopted.

According to the Resolution, the Cycling Development Program for 2021-2022 was approved.

From the 2022/2023 academic year, the following will be organized:

Republican boarding school for cycling skills, which is part of the system of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports;

an additional 25 cycling sections in children’s and youth sports schools and specialized children’s and youth sports schools in team sports and athletics;

cycling sections in Bukhara, Karshi, Navoi and Termez colleges of the Olympic reserve.

The total contingent of students of the Republican boarding school for cycling skills is 100 people.

Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, every year, students who have successfully passed the exams established for the types of cycling are admitted to the 5th grade of the Republican boarding school for cycling skills.

From the 2022/2023 academic year:

there will be a gradual increase in the current parameters of the state order for admission to study by types of cycling at the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, in all colleges of the Olympic reserve;

In the Nukus and Ferghana branches of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, a bachelor’s degree in cycling will be opened.

Also, the Sports Club of Professional Cyclists of Uzbekistan will be created under the Cycling Federation of Uzbekistan.

According to the Resolution, annually on 3 June in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, cycling marathons will be organized with a length of at least 15-20 kilometers.

In addition, from 2022, multi-day international road cycling (Road) and mountain (MTB) cycling will be organized in the Tashkent region - "Oqtosh-Chorvoq-Mountain", the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Samarkand region - "Save-Aral";

A cycling sports complex will be built in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.
