Representatives of the Ministry of Transport takes part in the International Transport Forum in Leipzig

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 24 to 26 May 2023, the city of Leipzig (Germany) hosted the International Transport Forum on the theme "Transport contributing to a sustainable economy". The summit participants discussed and shared their views on the role of transport as a factor in economic growth, which also contributes to environmental and social sustainability.

The delegation of the Ministry of Transport, headed by Deputy Minister Jasurbek Choriyev, took part in the forum, where the Uzbek side proposed to take measures to improve the infrastructure of the trans-Caspian corridor and create favorable conditions for national carriers through the widespread introduction of digitalization systems and optimization of payments, to simplify visa procedures for drivers of Uzbekistan and an increase in authorization forms for international road transport.

Following the results of the meetings, the Ministry of Transport proposed the following, the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the system of bilateral quotas of the EEC, to organize a meeting of the Uzbek-Mongolian working group in July 2023 in Mongolia in order to conduct and prepare for the signing of the final works on the text of the two agreements between Mongolia and Uzbekistan (air transportation and road transportation), in the III quarter of this year to hold an Uzbek-Bulgarian commission on international road transportation in the city of Tashkent and agree on an increase in the number of permit forms, speed up work with the Republic of Lithuania to increase the number of permit forms for international transportation by car, conduct in 2024 in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a high-level round table of the states of the Asian region of the international transport forum (“ITF high-level Dialogue of Asian countries”) and the development of an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and Armenia on international road freight transport
