Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee take part in the International Conference on Quality Assurance in Education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 1st International Scientific and Methodological Conference "Ensuring the quality of education: state, problems and prospects" was held on 2 February at the CIS headquarters.

The event was organized by the Department of Education Quality Control together with the National Agency for Education Quality Assurance under the leadership of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The forum was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan. The CIS Executive Committee was represented at the conference by Deputy Director of the Department of Humanitarian Cooperation, General Political and Social Problems Manuchehr Hojizoda and Advisor to the Department Galina Kazak.

Speaking to the audience, Galina Kazak noted that within the framework of the Commonwealth, cooperation in the field of education is a multifaceted field of activity, which occupies an important place in modern conditions as the basis for the prosperity and well-being of future generations.

According to her, common educational space is successfully developing in the CIS, integration processes are being improved. Coordination of interaction in this area is carried out by the Council for Cooperation in the Field of Education of the CIS Member States, which includes representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. The supreme bodies of the CIS in the field of education adopted 52 documents, the drafts of which were prepared on the initiative or with the participation of the Council. Among them are agreements on the recognition of diplomas of higher education, on the improvement of the qualifications of teachers, on giving 17 universities of the Commonwealth countries the status of basic organizations for the training, advanced training and retraining of specialists.

According to a representative of the CIS Executive Committee, this year it is planned to submit a draft decision on the basic organization for the training and retraining of journalistic personnel for consideration by the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS. In addition, at the level of working groups, drafts of the Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Documents on Academic Degrees and the Concept for Ensuring the Quality of Vocational Education in the Commonwealth Member States are being developed.

It was noted that since 2010 congresses of teachers and educators of the Commonwealth countries have been held on a regular basis. The next, eighth in a row, congress will be held in 2024 in Armenia.

A successful innovative form of interuniversity cooperation is the CIS Network University project. It consists of 46 leading universities from 9 Commonwealth countries. Highly qualified specialists are being trained in 35 areas of the master's program; thanks to the project, 1339 undergraduates were trained in the period from 2010 to 2022.

The development of inclusive education continues, including for children with disabilities. The working group of the Council developed and applies Recommendations in the field of psychological, pedagogical and organizational support for inclusive education in the Commonwealth countries. In 2018, the status of the basic organization for the training of teachers and specialists in the field of inclusive education was assigned to the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank.

“Numerous events organized by the sectoral Council, ministries of education / enlightenment (and science) and basic organizations of the CIS member states receive information support from the CIS Executive Committee. The ongoing work is constantly covered on the Internet resources of the Commonwealth,” added Galina Kazak.

The conference participants discussed issues related to the trends in the development of the education system, external and internal quality assurance of education, as well as methods and tools for managing this indicator.

By the beginning of the forum, a collection of materials “Ensuring the quality of education: state, problems and prospects” was published, the presentation of which took place at the plenary session of the conference.
