Representatives of Ministry of Innovative Development take part in the e-ITEC program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The e-ITEC program "Preparation and assessment of industrial, infrastructure and sustainable projects", proposed through a grant from the Government of India, in which 22 representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part, ended on 22 January 2021.

During this 12-day training program, various aspects of preparing and evaluating industrial and infrastructure projects in a sustainable manner were highlighted by representatives from the Enterprise Development Institute of India (EDII), Gujarat. 

On 22 January, the final online event of this international capacity building program was held, which was attended by officials from the Partnership for Development Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, the Indian Embassy in Tashkent, the Institute for Enterprise Development of India, as well as participating officials Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan.

The Indian Program for Technical Economic Cooperation (ITEC) is an important pillar of the development partnership between India and Uzbekistan. ITEC offers grant-based study programs in several areas such as information and technology, cybercrime and investigations, space exploration, artificial intelligence, big data, forensics, business management, English language proficiency, plant quarantine, law and order. , parliamentary practice. Since 1993, over 2,400 Uzbek officials have taken part in these courses.

At the recently held Virtual Summit between the President of Uzbekistan Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi on 11 December 2020, India also offered an increased number of ITEC seats and fully funded long-term educational scholarships under the programs of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) for Uzbek specialists and students.
