Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Dilshod Rasulov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation of businessmen from Mazandaran Province (Iran), led by Abdullah Mohajir, a board member of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mazandaran Province, located in northern Iran, possesses significant potential in the agro-industrial complex and exports. The region is notable for its strengths in agro-industry, food production, petrochemicals, construction materials, and tourism. Annual agricultural output reaches 6 million tons.

The province hosts three free economic zones active in tourism and industrial sectors.

The meeting was attended by Mohammadali Eskandari, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Iran to Uzbekistan; Ali Taghipour, Head of the Mazandaran Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Musa Ogay, Chairman of the Joint Uzbek-Iranian Chamber of Commerce; as well as representatives of the business communities of both countries.

During the talks, the parties discussed bilateral economic cooperation in connection with the opening of the representative office of the Chamber of Commerce, Mines, and Agriculture of Mazandaran Province in Uzbekistan.

The Iranian side highly appreciated the active participation of the Uzbek business delegation in the international exhibition IranExpo–2025 and the Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum held during the visit of Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

In 2024, the bilateral trade turnover amounted to US$469.6 million, with exports at US$163.5 million and imports at US$333.0 million. Currently, 261 enterprises with Iranian investment operate within Uzbekistan.

In turn, Dilshod Rasulov proposed organizing a visit of Uzbek entrepreneurs to Mazandaran Province to deepen bilateral ties and launch joint cooperative projects.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to establish a special working group to facilitate the visit and develop cooperation mechanisms.
