Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 October 2024, the regional inter-industry trade fair commenced at the Termez International Trade Center, located in the free trade zone on the border between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in Termez district of Surkhandarya region.
The fair is organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, in collaboration with the Surkhandarya regional khokimiyat, the Center for Digital Transformation, the Termez International Trade Center free trade zone, and the associations "Uzpromstroy materials" and "Uzkhimprom."
The main goal of the event is to increase the production of modern, competitive, export-oriented, and import-substituting products, as well as to further enhance industrial potential and expand localization.
The two-day regional inter-industry trade fair features five major system-forming enterprises from Uzbekistan and over 200 local producers representing sectors such as agriculture, food processing, chemicals, leather and footwear, textiles, as well as fruit and vegetable processing and construction materials production. Exhibitors are showcasing more than 500 types of products.
The Afghan delegation participating in the fair explored the exhibits, visited the Hilton hotel located in the free trade zone, the AKFA MEDLINE clinic, the logistics terminal, and a showroom. Delegation representatives expressed interest in establishing trade relations and signing a number of bilateral agreements.
During the interregional industry fair, agreements and contracts worth 250 billion soums are expected to be reached.
