Regional industrial fair became a platform for promising cooperation and trade projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Regional Industrial Fair held in the Andijan region.
The exhibition showcased nearly 500 product types produced by 110 enterprises from the region.
The fair highlighted successful initiatives in the fields of automotive and machine engineering, textiles and electrical industries, digital technologies, construction materials, food products, as well as in sectors such as floriculture, beekeeping, and aquaculture.
The President got acquainted with the range of products and modern developments being created in the region, and engaged with entrepreneurs who demonstrated initiative and business activity. During the conversation, he particularly emphasized the importance of supporting promising projects and spreading the experience gained to the national level.
In order to expand business cooperation and share knowledge, representatives from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, all regions of the country, and the city of Tashkent were invited to participate in the fair — including both responsible leaders and business community representatives. The event addressed issues related to establishing cooperative links, organizing joint production, and promoting mutual trade.
Currently, there are over 11,000 industrial enterprises in the Andijan region, accounting for more than 10 percent of the total industrial output in the country.
The region has established 47 industrial zones, where nearly 1,000 investment projects have been implemented with a total value of 2.3 trillion soums. As a result, 18,000 new jobs have been created. In 2024 alone, products worth 1 trillion soums were produced in these zones, with exports exceeding 30 million dollars.
At present, 288 investment projects worth 1 billion dollars are being implemented in the region. As part of this year’s plans, 119 new production facilities are set to be launched, creating more than 4,000 jobs. It is expected that the volume of industrial product exports will reach 47 million dollars.
Following the President’s visit to the Altinkul district last year, 16 hectares of land were allocated for the creation of a furniture cluster. More than 100 production workshops, 236 showrooms, and trade pavilions have already been opened in this zone.
