Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 28 November 2019 No. UP-5886 introduced a new procedure for providing the population with housing through mortgage lending based on market principles.
To purchase apartments in the primary housing market, built under the new order, at the expense of long-term funds placed by the Ministry of Finance in commercial banks, 7,927 citizens were provided with mortgage loans in the amount of 1.75 trillion soums.
As of 1 January 2021, on the basis of applications of commercial banks from the state budget, 2,659 citizens were paid 65.8 billion soums of subsidies for mortgage loans. In particular, in cities, 2,395 citizens were allocated 64.9 billion soums to cover part of the initial payment and interest, in rural areas, 264 citizens - 0.9 billion soums to cover part of the interest.
At the same time, at the expense of the Company for Refinancing the Mortgage of Uzbekistan, during 2020, commercial banks issued loans to 333 citizens in the amount of 61.9 billion soums. In particular, loans in the amount of 928.7 million soums were allocated for the purchase of housing in the primary market, 60.76 billion soums for the purchase of housing in the secondary market and 230.0 million soums for housing repairs.
