Real GDP of Uzbekistan to grow by 8% in 2010 – IMF forecast
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of real gross domestic product (GDP) in Uzbekistan will make up 8% in 2010 and 7% in 2011, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in its October report “World Economic Outlook”.

According to IMF forecast, inflation in Uzbekistan will comprise 10.6% in 2010 and it will grow to 11.4% in 2011.

This year, current account balance surplus will make up 3.8% to GDP of Uzbekistan, the report said. The figure will rose to 6.3% in 2011.

The IMF report said that unemployment level in Uzbekistan will be at the 0.2% level in 2010 and 2011, which is the lowest figure among the CIS states.

As earlier reported, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) forecasted that Uzbekistan’s economic will grow by 8.5% in 2010 and 9% in 2011.

According to ADB forecast, inflation level in Uzbekistan will be 9.3% this year and 9.5% in next year.

ADB kept its forecast on current trade balance surplus at the level of 13% to GDP in 2010 and 14% in 2011.

As earlier reported, the Government of Uzbekistan expects the GDP growth at the level of 8.3% in 2010.
