During the meeting, the head of UNWTO expressed gratitude for the support of the Uzbek side during the recent elections of the UNWTO head.
Speaking about the deepening of cooperation, the parties agreed to jointly develop a roadmap for concrete actions based on the provisions, envisaged by the memorandum on cooperation in the field of tourism between the State Committee for Tourism and UNWTO, which was signed in London in November.
The planned document will be signed within the framework of participation of the Uzbek delegation in the work of one of the largest tourist exhibitions in the world "FITUR" in January 2018 in Madrid (Spain).
In addition, UNWTO will provide the Uzbek side with access to UNWTO research publications for free of charge, as well as assisting in the internship of the employees of the State Committee for Tourism Development at the Organization’s headquarters in order to improve skills and acquire international tourism skills.
Together with this, the parties agreed on attracting representatives of the tourism industry of the republic to participate in various educational programs and advanced training, conducted on the initiative of UNWTO and its partners.
